Kiraki: Which basic medical services are free? (video)

The RA Constitution states that everybody has a right to receive basic medical services for free. Topic of another issue of “Kiraki” (Sunday) program is the availability of basic medical services. This year the financing provided by the state budget to the Ministry of Healthcare has decreased by more than AMD 2 billion 378 million. The money allocated for medical aid covered by the state has decreased by 692 million. In parallel to the decrease, mechanisms are being developed to control the amount of medical aid covered by the state. One of the activities towards it is, for example, the electronic system to be invested for regulating the amounts covered by the state; it means that it will be possible to follow online the management of sums allocated to the hospital. To what extent basic healthcare services are available and trustworthy for citizens in Armenia, which the rights and opportunities of the citizens are and to what extent they can use it.
