Minister of Justice Arpine Hovhannisyan today replied to journalists’ questions in the National Assembly. Speaking about the ‘cracks’ in the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) she is affiliated with, the minister said, “Soon you will see whether there are cracks or not in the party.” Asked whether she would be among the leading five candidates of the HHK list, Arpine Hovhannisyan said, “I do not have such information. When the final list is published you will know [the sequence of candidates]. I have not received an offer to head the HHK ticket.” The next question referred to the decision of former Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan to quit the HHK. Arpine Hovhannisyan was asked whether his withdrawal [from the HHK] was a loss for the party. “I am sorry but I am not going to comment on his move,” she said. The minister said she is continuing her political career with the HHK. Speaking about Serzh Sargsyan’s statement in which he said ‘the rills, that break away from the major river and do not flow back into the same river for some time, dry up and vanish,’ Ms Hovhannisyan said she was not going to comment on the president’s statement. “… especially the one said in the figurative sense and I do not consider it correct to interpret his words."
