International Tennis Federation ends partnership with betting and gaming companies
The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has terminated the contract with betting and gaming company Betway early after introducing a policy to cease having sponsors in the sector. The contract was to end in a year. In a press release, the ITF said it took the step in order to minimize the possibility of organized games. The ITF also said it was discontinuing relations with all bookmakers. This came after the Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU, an anti-corruption body covering all professional tennis around the world, reported an increase in suspicious betting alerts last week.
