Each year, on January 13, the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates the Feast of Naming of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The Church does not celebrate Old New Year, priest Ter Yesayi Artenyan said on January 13. Though Armenians celebrate Old New Year on January 13, the day has another meaning for the Church. “On January 13, we celebrate the Feast of Circumcision and Naming of Christ. A Divine Liturgy will be served in all Armenian churches today,” he said. Ter Yesayi Artenyan added that his family members also celebrate Old New Year and congratulate one another on the holiday.
