During his first 100 days in office, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan has not spoken about important issues, such as democracy, human rights and the need for free and fair elections,  this according to Transparency International Anticorruption Center (TIAC). “We have noticed that the prime minister does not make these issues top priorities on the agenda,” says Heriknaz Tigranyan, a legal adviser at TIAC. “Whenever asked a question, he agrees that the country’s justice system needs reforms.  But never has he clarified or proposed ways to resolve the issue,” she said. Heriknaz Tigranyan says they cannot understand on what criteria the new cabinet cabinet members were appointed to their positions. “The same minister of health gave two interviews and immediately appeared in the centre of the press. Even the prime minister confessed that he had not known the minister so well before the scandal,” she added. The TIAC representative says it is a negative phenomenon that the activity of the dismissed ministers has not been evaluated so far.
