Today the Council of Elders of Vanadzor community convened an extraordinary session. Sitting wasn’t held as quorum wasn’t formed. Krist Marukyan, Head of “Bright Armenia” faction, had announced beforehand, that by boycotting the sitting of Vanadzor’s Council of Elders, they would find out the political forces, which had violated the coalition memorandum during the mayoral elections. Will the Council of Elders’ members, who elected a community head by a closed-secret voting, again assist the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) faction in the upcoming sitting or will they prefer to remain secret and fail the sitting. The second option worked; “Armenian Renaissance”, Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) and “Bright Armenia” weren’t present. After 30 minutes Vanadzor Mayor Mamikon Aslanyan, according to the Article 14 of local self-government bodies’ law, declared the session invalid. He admits that boycott is a way of political struggle. But how long can Vanadzor remain without approval of the budget? To remind, at Vanadzor Council of Elders elections the Republican Party of Armenia received 13, Bright Armenia-10, Armenian Renaissance-5, Prosperous Armenia Party- 3, ARF- 2 mandates.
