“Decision on decrease in gas price will remain in force at least for 6 months” (video)
“Decrease in gas and electricity price will certainly cause decrease in the prices of electricity and petrol,” today the NA Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) faction lawmaker Vardan Ayvazyan told the journalists. According to his words, in Armenia the TPPs consume gas most of all, so consequently, if gas price decreases, electricity price should also drop. “Armenia is the country, which is on the first place with gas supplies’ level, and here cars mainly use gas as fuel. 50-60 percent of gas stations are among the gas consumers, which use 10 000 ore more cubic meters gas, so for them gas worth USD 280 will cost USD 253, consequently, I think that petrol price will also drop.” Vardan Ayvazyan noted that gas price decrease will not affect the RA budget, “All these changes will not result in additional expenditures for the state budget.” In reply to the question whether such decreases are long lasting, Ayvazyan answered that according to the law for at least six months the Public Services Regulatory Commission cannot make any changes in that decision.
