“There is no proof against Jirayr Sefilyan”: detention term prolonged
The detention term of Jirayr Sefilyan, Head of “Centennial without the regime” movement, Commander of Shushi special battalion, has been extended for another two months. Advocate Tigran Hayrapetyan told “A1+” that at 01:30 a.m. on Sunday the decision must have been published, but only today with great difficulty they have been able to find out that the detention term of Jirayr Sefilyan has been extended. The advocate claims that the charge is completely baseless. “Three charges were joined, but no activity has been carried out. 60 investigators included in the investigative group haven’t done anything and haven’t obtained even a single proof.” Sefilyan is charged with Article 235 Part 2 of Armenia’s Criminal Code: illegal procurement, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices. “Sefilyan is kept in custody not for carrying out preliminary investigation, but they simply punish him,” summed up the advocate. To remind, Jirayr Sefilyan has been in custody since June 20.
