The Court of General Jurisdiction of Ararat and Vayots Dzor marzes will hear on Tuesday the case filed by the Europe in Law Association NGO and Foundation Against the Violation of Law NGO against former Armenian justice minister Hrayr Tovmasyan. The NGOs claim that the Chief of Staff-Secretary General of the Armenian National Assembly has tarnished their business reputation. They demand that Tovmasyan make a public apology and pay compensation o f about AMD 1 million. This came after Tovmasyan said in one of the 4+4+4 format meetings that “observer organizations are demagogues, illiterate or semi-literate organizations that feed from outside.” The former minister said this after Tigran Yegoryan, an advisor working with the Europe in Law Association NGO, said, “We believe, observer organizations also believe, that the government rigged the elections…” The NGOs that filed a suit against Hrayr Tovmasyan have been observing elections for a long time now.
