“There has been no conflict, no tension,” acting Minister of Economy, Arstvik Minasyan, said in Friday speaking about his relations with the newly-appointed Prime Minister, Karen Karapetyan. “I am sure that the prime minister wants to ease business tensions,” Mr. Minasyan said. When asked about his possible resignation, Artsvik Minasyan said, “There is no need to resign. The government is formed by presidential decrees with the prime minister’s consent. I continue to fulfill my obligations and I see no need to resign. At present, I am acting Minister [of Economy] and I will continue to perform my duties until the government is formed. A position is not an end in itself for us; the main goal of our agreement is to register progress in all directions. We have assumed full responsibility and it does not matter what positions we have at present.” Mr. Minasyan confirmed the reports that he had been offered a post at the Ministry of Nature Protection. “I am going to discuss the offer with my party. Yes, the Prime Minister wants to see another person in my place who will be able to address the new problems.”
