Psychologist Karine Nalchajyan says the older generation and the independence generation perceive independence in different ways. If people, who lived in the Soviet period, compare the former with the present, young people do not look back and compare things in Armenia with those in other countries. The psychologist stresses that young people have a stronger sense of responsibility and are more demanding, while the older generation is inert and reconciled themselves to the idea that decisions should be taken by others. Karine Nalchajyan says humanity is currently experiencing another civilizational crisis, which will culminate in the middle of the 21st century. “It is time to make thorough analyses. Armenia has both internal and external crisis. We need to come together and make a profound analysis of what is happening with us,” she said. The psychologist thinks that Armenia is also a country where disappointed people live, because people expect good things to happen, but independence has its price.
