Why HHK chose Samvel Balasanyan (video)
Sukias Avetisyan, lawmaker of the NA Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), thinks that this year the elections of the local self-government bodies will be more interesting. Today during the press conference he noted that such political forces have become active, which are either newly established, or forgotten long ago, “I think they do it so that they become known until the parliamentary elections of 2017,” he said. In reply to the question, why the Republican Party decided to nominate current Mayor Samvel Balasanyan at the elections of the Council of Elders in Gyumri, taking into account that he isn’t a member of HHK, Sukias Avetisyan answered, “We have chosen the current Mayor, as there are activities, which must be continued, for example, the loan program of Gyumri.” Touching upon the fact that Samvel Balasanyan has changed several parties, was a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), the Republican lawmaker noted, “Samvel Balasanyan isn’t a cadre of the BHK. When he entered into politics, he wasn’t a member of any party,” he summed up.
