Azerbaijan conducted training missions thirty kilometers from the southeastern section of the Line of Contact this morning, NKR Ministry of Defense reported earlier on Wednesday. It said 12 airplanes and 41 helicopters participated in the training flights as of 11.00 a.m. “We did not have the least fear even during the flare-up in the conflict when they [Azeris] used air force,” NKR President's spokesperson Davit Babayan told A1+. “Those are simply training flights. Of course we are closely monitoring the situation and taking corresponding steps. We need to remain quiet. Of course, Azerbaijan is a terrorist state, but, our army is able and has always been able to defend our independence and freedom,” he continued. Davit Babayan says the situation remains calm on the border ‘despite regular violations of ceasefire by the Azerbaijani side.’ Asked whether Azerbaijan might resume hostilities, Mr. Babayan said, “Resumption of hostilities is never excluded but the possibility depends on our ability to resist the enemy. If they understand that we are able to repulse and counterattack and it will be difficult for them to ‘recover from the consequences, they will never resort to provocations,” the NKR President's spokesman said. Asked whether the military and political leadership of Artsakh learned lessons from the April war, Mr. Babayan said, “Naturally, we all learned lessons. This shows our advantages and outlines our future actions. Everything will be done to make our security systems more powerful and modern.”
