Three-year-old child needs walker: Family lives in extreme conditions (video)
The Simonyans live in a damp and cold rented apartment in Zovuni, a village in Kotayk marz (province). The family lives in dire financial conditions in a dilapidated apartment. The only feeder of the family is the father who earns daily wages. He cannot find a permanent job because he does not have a passport. His wife says they need to pay about 2 million drams to get a passport because her husband did not serve in the army. Three-year-old Lilit is the eldest child in the family. Lilit cannot walk, she was born with CP (cerebral palsy). The child needs serious treatment but the family cannot afford it because of poor social conditions. Lilit plays on the semi-rotten floor all day long with her young sister Meline. The children are no longer afraid of different insects that appear on the floor.
