Karabakh war veteran beaten up in Yerevan street (video)
A Karabakh war veteran, one of the participants of today’s march, has been beaten in a central Yerevan street.
One of the eye-witnesses saw how Smbat Hakobyan dragged away to a corner on Abobyan street and severely beaten. “I came up to them and asked what they were doing. They said they ‘were carrying out a special operation,” the eye-witness said.
Some time later, activists saw a blood-covered man sitting on the street. When they came nearer, they recognized the freedom fighter.
The man has been rushed to Surb Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center. Now the activists are heading to the hospital.
Smbat Hakobyan joined civil activists in a procession heading from Matenadaran (Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts) to the headquarters of the ruling Republican Party with a demand for a government change.
