Artsakh President visits UK

A delegation led by President of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Republic Bako Sahakyan headed to the United Kingdom on July 6 for an official visit. On 7 July, President Sahakyan met with members of the Armenian Community Council in London to discuss the possible development of ties between the local Armenian community and Artsakh. Later in the day, Mr Sahakyan met with the representatives of the Armenian community of Great Britain at the London's St. Yeghichè Armenian Church. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, he briefed the local Armenians on the situation in Arsakh, its accomplishments and existing problems and responded to a number of questions. Bako Sahakyan stressed that the Armenian community of Great Britain plays an active role in the life of the UK, the Diaspora and the historic Homeland. The president thanked the community for its patriotism and devotion to the native people. The meeting was attended also by Armenian Ambassador to the UK Armen Sargsyan, Primate of the British diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Bishop Hovakim Manukian and other government officials.
