The sacked employees of Karen Demirchyan Sport and Concert Complex, commonly known as Hamalir, have filed a suit with the Administrative Court, demanding their unpaid salaries for several months. “After the Karen Demirchyan Sport and Concert Complex CJSC was announced bankrupt we have applied to the company administration several times asking them to pay our due salaries but each time they said they had no money and could not pay the debt. Over 70 employees of the Complex have not received their salaries to this day,” said Koryun Grigoryan, one of the workers. During the court sitting, Armine Hakobyan, who represents the interests of the Karen Demirchyan Sport and Concert Complex CJSC, said the workers were to prove that the company had not paid their salaries. Similarly, the lawyer representing the interests of the employees demanded that the Karen Demirchyan Sport and Concert Complex CJSC prove that it has paid all employees and has no obligation towards them. Armine Hakobyan asked the court to give them time to present evidence on paid salaries. The next court hearing is slated for June 20.
