Lawyer: Website targeted at Seyran Ohanyan and his wife (video)
Karen Mejlumyan, the lawyer of Armenian Prime Minister’s wife Ruzanna Khachatryan, has filed a criminal case against “Hraparak” for slandering the premier’s wife. The newspaper wrote that several years ago the car driven by Ruzanna Khachatryan crashed killing a passenger. As soon as the newspaper published the article, the lawyer wrote a letter to the editorial staff, requesting a disclaimer. “However, an hour later the newspaper published another article with the same content this time citing hzham.am,” Karen Mejlumyan said. The lawyer viewed the second article as a rejection to publish a disclaimer and went to court. Syuzan Simonyan, a journalist working with Hraparak daily, says the send article was published before receiving a refutation. Mr Mejlumyan says he tried to find the author of the article posted on hzham.am website but in vain. “We are convinced that it is a fake website. The website activated several months ago and immediately targeted at Prime Minister and his wife. We have been unable to find them. The site does not have a feedback or contact info. They have neither address, nor telephone number available for visitors.
