Michel Platini is in Yerevan to visit his friend
UEFA President Michel Platini today arrived in Yerevan for a short visit. “We haven’t come for a concrete project. Just on the way to Bulgaria I decided to visit Armenia to meet President of the Football Federation Ruben Hayrapetyan, who is my close friend,” said Platini during the briefing at Avan Football Academy. While speaking about Armenian football, famous former football player noted that UEFA does everything in order to develop football in the Eastern European countries. “It is pleasant that with the support of UEFA such a football academy was built in Yerevan, but it will be better if skilled football players are prepared in such high quality pitches. For two year we have tried to develop children and youth football in Armenia,” noted President of UEFA. There was a question about the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. Michel Platini gave a short answer by saying that it is a political issue and UEFA is powerless in that issue. To remind, it has been the fifth visit of Michel Platini to Armenia and his first informal visit.
