The modernity and demand for the radio hasn’t been lost even after the widespread of the electronic media, assures Director of the Public Radio Armen Amiryan, “Is the voice of Charents, Tumanyan or Hrachya Nersisyan old? And from technical point of view, the radio is much more available to the society.” Today ahead of the Radio Day he reminds of the history and importance of Alexander Popov’s invention, “It is more available to the society, as you can communicate with the media even in a car, the radio is very beneficial.” While speaking about the creation of the radio, Mr. Amiryan reminded that the radio has been used in Armenian since 1926 and has changed much in our lives. As to the Public Radio, Armen Amiryan claims that until today the Public Radio has large audience, as it uses various means of availability: “Today we have adopted all the modern means. Availability is very important, we use all the possible means so that the Public Radio is available to our listeners and readers- social networks, mobile apps, Internet version. We also broadcast programs in 14 languages.”
