After meeting-discussion at Tumo Center for Creative Technologies, world famous Armenian musicians Tigran Mansuryan, Tigran Hamasyan, Serj Tankian and Lilit Pipoyan met with journalists. Asked by “A1+”, that during Yerevan concert SOAD voiced concrete political calls addressed to the RA Government, what the reaction of the authorities was, the soloist-musician of SOAD Serj Tankian answered, “When I said those words, I was thinking about the future of Armenia, at the same time I was thinking about my grandparents, and I both thanked and reminded of the responsibilities of all those countries, which had connection with the RA.” When again we tried to clarify whether there were reactions by the authorities, Mr. Tankian answered, “No.” Singer-songwriter Lilit Pipoyan was present at the concert of SOAD and she noted that she had seen many honest and clear faces during the concert, “I saw that enthusiasm, joint energy, which united everyone, and I was very pleased to see that youth, as there was something very inspiring in them.” As to the recognition of the Armenian Genocide, the opinion of Serj Tankian is definite, “Turkey must recognize the Armenian Genocide and open way for justice.” As we know, Serj Tankian has addressed two letters to Serzh Sargsyan and has expressed his concerns over the present situation in the RA. Are there any changes? Serj Tankian answered, “I haven’t been in Armenia during recent years, you must tell me about changes. I have come here to check it. I follow domestic politics of the RA as much as I can.” Serj Tankian has touched upon the ecological situation of the RA for many times and has sounded alarm about damage caused to the environment, “I regret to say that there are so many mines in the country, which has very little land. It is dangerous.” By the way, both during the whole discussion and the press conference Serj Tankian was trying to speak Armenian. World famous jazz pianist Tigran Hamasyan participated in the protest actions for the preservation of the Afrikyan building in Yerevan and supported the activists by performing his works, “I want to bring an example that any European city doesn’t destroy what it has, they always renovate. When you go to Toulouse or Paris, you can see, that they can build a new architectural monument, but they maintain the old ones. We don’t have that conservatism. Later we will regret it,” he noted.
