Galust Sahakyan joked: “We won’t retire”
Today the NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan decided to make a special speech in order to speak of the pensions of the retired presidents and other privileges. He announced that he carefully followed all the speeches and came to conclusion that recently all had tried not to present their viewpoints but to deliver their own philosophy from the tribune, “We personalized the speeches. What does it mean, whom I love is a President, whom I don’t love isn’t a President? Who said that this law relates to the personality, it relates to the President’s institute. Bringing your personal ambitions to the National Assembly isn’t right. I have never thought that this draft law will last so long. We say that the state institutions must be respected. If we don’t give privileges to our retired Presidents, so which state will respect and love us?” He noted that he was one of the critics of Levon Ter-Petrosyan but it didn’t relate to his personality but the actions, “How we can forget that once the people followed his calls and we won the war. I must say jokingly that these drafts don’t relate to the NA Speaker and Prime Minister as we won’t retire.” The NA Speaker thinks that the drafts must be adopted as they don’t relate to the concrete presidents but the statehood.”
