Leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) Gagik Tsarukyan started his speech in Liberty Square speaking about people’s concerns and problems. “About 90-95 percent of Armenians are struggling hard to pay back their loans. People are cold but they do not use gas or electricity to heat their homes as they cannot afford the bills,” he said. “You cannot intimidate Tsarukyan with anything. Tsarukyan has experienced and undergone all kinds of hardships but he has never feared anything.  They [authorities] said ‘Tsarukyan will not come and stand on this platform.’ They were right; I did not need to get involved in this, but people needed someone to second and support them and I am ready to be that person. Tsarukyan has always kept his promises for the sake of the faith that people have in him,” he said adding that success lies in unity. The BHK leader then spoke about the previous rally that was held by the opposition trio in Yerevan on October 10. He stressed that the constitutional reforms had been postponed under public pressure. Tsarukyan continued his speech, saying that we need a new kind of government, early elections and a new program. "We do not want the repetition of [Ukraine] Maidans, but we are ready to do our utmost for our people. We are to unite our efforts and create a new kind of power. We are starting to mobilize people and we must be ready for any action at any moment.  We should eliminate political monopoly, majoritarian voting system in the country,” he said. The rally was followed by a march through the central streets of the Armenian capital.
