On October 23, Governor of Vayots Dzor province Edgar Ghazaryan was relieved of his post upon his resignation request and appointed Armenia’s Ambassador to Poland. Armtimes.com believes that Ghazaryan's dismissal was resulted by his long-standing conflict with Gagik Tsarukyan, Leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK). “It means that [Prime Minister] Hovik Abrahamyan has made a present to Gagik Tsarukyan on the occasion of the opposition rally to be held later today,” Armtimes.com writes. Before the elections, Edgar Ghazaryan announced that if people voted for the BHK, ‘Tsarukyan will give you a garbage truck.’ In his turn, during a meeting with Yeghegnadzor voters Tsarukyan called Ghazaryan ‘a trader of mineral water.’ (In 2002-2003, Edgar Ghazaryan was head of Marketing Section of Jermuk Group Ltd).
